The Acting Project

Summary:

The Acting Project is a film and theatre experience like nothing else.  We are looking for students who want to do something fun and creative with their summer, something that will form bonds for a lifetime.

The Acting Project is more than just an acting class.   We are going to be constantly working together to produce short films and creative scenes that help us learn and grow as filmmakers, actors, writers, directors and more.  Not to mention, we are going to have tons of fun in the process.   As an ensemble we will be collaborating on productions from script to the screen, with the acting class bringing the scripts to life and the film class running the cameras and editing. The final product will, without a doubt, be something everyone will be extremely proud of. Whether you are an actor or a camera operator you will have equal say during our brainstorming sessions.  These sessions will determine the content of the scripts we work on during each phase of the class.

For our first semester, we will be meeting every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-4:00pm until September 4 which will be our public performance and/or screening. This class will be for actors as well as those who want to work behind the cameras.  Actors will be working on performance skills through improvisation and creative techniques while the film students will be working on editing and camera skills.

Tuition for these classes is $50 per week for the acting class and $75 per week for the film production class.  Please  let us know if you would like to join us by filling out a registration form below.

Again, we need you to fill out a registration form to let us know you are coming. We look forward to seeing you.

Acting Class 101:

We are holding auditions for high school students interested in taking part in a performance based ensemble class being led by award winning director Matt Francis. These classes will be two nights per week and will feature both acting for the camera and the stage. At the end of each semester there will be a performance for parents and the entire community. Performances will be on stage and screen.

You do NOT have to have anything prepared. The audition will be improvisation based. There are only 20 slots available. Tuition is $50 weekly for two classes per week.  Please fill out the audition form if you wish to audition.  You do not have to have any experience to audition.  First time actors welcome!

Each class will work for one full semester, approximately 3 months, then have a performance to put everything they are learning to practice.  As of right now our first semester is June 15 through September 4, upon which we will have a performance for the whole community.

Please fill out a form to audition.  Click here for Acting Class 101 Form.
